We did not excavate very much today, as the day was focused on a geophysics demonstration and drawing plans and profiles of the various units.
However, some excavations did occur prior to class officially starting. Excavations in unit A1, under the direction of Jenna and Aaron proceeded to a culturally sterile level in the northeast quadrant of the unit. The profile stratigraphy was interesting.
Work in Unit A3 recovered a black pottery sherd with a stamped impression on the outside bearing the phrase "NILS J. T..."
