Today was not a good day to draw, so we put off drawing and refilling the test pits until next week.
Instead, the students went to Professor Houston's lab and washed the artifacts that we have collected over the course of the excavation. There are probably several thousand pieces of material culture now housed in the lab. We were able to wash nearly everything. This is the first stage of lab analysis, and it was a relief to get it done in a timely manner.
