Today was the last day of work at the First Baptist Church. We filled back in our test pits and will seed them soon so that grass will grow back next spring.
This means that we are now moving into the next phase of investigation: Artifact Analysis. This entails washing, drying and examining the artifacts we recovered for meaning. When was it created or deposited? How was it used? What would have been its purpose at this place and time?
The students will be trying to answer these kinds of questions in the coming weeks.
Dr. Nelson will then present our finding to the Church congregation on December 10, at 10am.
