justine: I'm so happy that you mention "Object Worlds of Ancient Egypt" in your paper. This is one of my favourite books out there, and not just because it's an academic book that quotes Madonna in one of its opening chapter ("We are living in a material world/and I am a material girl"). Your discussion of campi phlegraei as artefact is quite relevant and engaging. -justine

kholmber: You’ve certainly made me excited to finally crack my copy of Blix, Elise! The quotes from Johnstone-Lavis are absolutely perfect in the way that you used them and you situated your argument very solidly in theory. I love the concept of ‘geognostic’ work or art and if we were working through further iterations of this I would have you expand on that section and fully define and explore the concept of it. As it stands, though, the paper is exceptionally polished. Brava.
