Biography:
Mark Suchman is a Professor of Sociology at Brown University and director
of the Brown Legal Studies Seminar.He has also taught at the University of Wisconsin (1993-2008), and at
Cornell Law School (2006-2007).From 1999 to 2001, he was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar in
Health Policy Research at Yale University, and in 2002-2003 he was a fellow at
the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences. He holds an AB from Harvard
(1983), a JD from Yale Law School (1989), and a PhD in Sociology from Stanford
(1994).He has served as chair of
the American Sociological Association's Section on the Sociology of Law and as
a member of the Board of Trustees of the Law and Society Association.His research interests center on the
relationship between legal, organizational and technological change,
particularly in the information technology, nano-technology, and healthcare
sectors.
