Investigator Biography: Mark Suchman is a Professor of Sociology at Brown University and director of the Brown Legal Studies Seminar.  He has also taught at the University of Wisconsin (1993-2008), and at Cornell Law School (2006-2007).  From 1999 to 2001, he was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar in Health Policy Research at Yale University, and in 2002-2003 he was a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences.   He holds an AB from Harvard (1983), a JD from Yale Law School (1989), and a PhD in Sociology from Stanford (1994).  He has served as chair of the American Sociological Association's Section on the Sociology of Law and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Law and Society Association.  His research interests center on the relationship between legal, organizational and technological change, particularly in the information technology, nano-technology, and healthcare sectors.
