The Division of Biology & Medicine is supported by a team of five Information Technology Support Consultants (ITSCs) as a part of the University's Office of Information Technology (OIT). BioMed IT Support Consultants work closely with other teams in OIT to provide coordinated access to computing resources.

The quickest way to reach IT support staff is to contact [email protected]. This email is monitored by the entire BioMed ITSC team during regular business hours.
The team does not have a dedicated phone line as we are usually in the field. Issues can be reported by phone through the Brown Help Desk at 401-835-4357 (HELP), though emailing the team is quicker.
- Desktop and network support: We install, configure and troubleshoot Windows and Apple computers and mobile devices as well as HP and RICOH printers.
- Computer equipment and software procurement: We can assess your technical requirements and recommend suitable equipment and/or software. We will then handle the entire purchase process, including coordinating with Biomed Research Administration on procedures for grant-funded purchases. Computer Services also manages the Equipment Replacement Program which provides Division-funded computers for eligible faculty and staff.
- Administrative file storage: We manage server-based storage for inviduals and groups. It is available for storing administrative, academic, and research material. All files are replicated offsite for business continuity purposes. We also manage the Division's FileMaker databases.
