ADMINISTRATION: The incumbent will report to the Chief of Medicine of Women & Infants Hospital and to the Chairman of Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The incumbent will be responsible for the administration of quality assurance, charting, conferences, program development, service lines, tumor board, etc. Total Administrative Activity = 10% CLINICAL: The incumbent will serve as an attending physician in the Center for Women's Gastrointestinal Disorders, providing 3-4 outpatient sessions per week, and providing 2-3 endoscopy procedures sessions per week, 45 weeks per year. The incumbent will serve as an attending physician on the inpatient GI consultation service 3-4 months per year. Total Clinical Activity = 60%. JOB DESCRIPTION: Serve as an attending physician in the Department of Medicine, in the Center for Women's Gastrointestinal Disorders at Women & Infants Hospital. Participate in the Department's Service schedule. Participate in the Department's On-Call schedule. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirements are that the candidate be board certified gastroenterologist who will care for women, including care of pregnant patients in an outpatient faculty practice, endoscopy suite, as well as inpatient consultations in a women's hospital. The candidate should have demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly participation in the clinical programs of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Experience in outpatient clinical practice, inpatient service, and teaching is highly desired. Total Teaching Activity = 10% The incumbent will teach medical students, residents, and fellows in the outpatient faculty practice, endoscopy suite, and on the inpatient units. The incumbent will participate in the educational and training programs in the Department of Medicine, including conference programs, journal clubs, and seminars, as well as participate in expanding the GI fellowship and pelvic floor dysfunction program. Total Research Activity = 20% The incumbent will be expected to establish, coordinate, and integrate clinical research protocols at Women & Infants Hospital and in collaboration with the Department of Medicine. A minimum of 20% protected time for research and scholarly productivity will be provided. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between Women & Infants Hospital and the various internal medicine programs of Brown University and its affiliated hospitals.
