The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at The Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University seeks a full-time academic Pediatric Intensivist, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin approximately June 2017.

This position targets an individual with academic qualifications to further the academic / scholarly mission of the division. Mentoring of junior faculty and colleagues is expected. An appropriate share of clinical and educational activities is required. An administrative or other leadership position will be considered, commensurate with experience and career interests.

The Intensive Care Division practices at Hasbro Children’s Hospital at Rhode Island Hospital, a state of the art quaternary care center in Providence, Rhode Island.

Current academic endeavors include active clinical research projects in collaboration with PALISI, collaborative clinical research in outcomes of BPD in bpd network, and clinical observations supported by our participation in VPICU. We seek to expand the breadth of the division. Clinical activities of the division include direct patient care and supervision of trainees in a 16 bed multidisciplinary medical-surgical PICU, direct patient care and oversight of NPs in a highly regarded pediatric sedation program, and serving as control physician for an in-house pediatric transport team as control physician.

Minimum requirements include Board Certification in Pediatrics and BC/BE in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Candidates must qualify for medical licensure in Rhode Island and a full time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at The Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. If hired at the senior level, the candidate must have a national reputation and scholarly achievements. Successful candidates possess a commitment to the academic growth of the division and department, to clinical excellence, medical education and multidisciplinary group practice. Time and support will be allocated according to needs and qualifications of individual candidates.
