Full-time Research Scientist with interests in stem cell and wound healing research or a closely related field. Establish, coordinate and integrate basic science research efforts at Rhode Island Hospital in the Department of Plastic Surgery and establish an independent investigative program. Mentor graduate students and residents in basic science projects.
Qualify for a full-time medical faculty position at the rank of Professor (Research). Minimum requirements include a PhD or equivalent terminal degree with a consistent track record of NIH support and current active grants; evidence of a sustained high quality research program with external funding; a national reputation and scholarly achievements appropriate for a senior level position; national prominence as evidenced by visiting professorships, service on study sections at NIH or equivalent, or membership on editorial boards for basic science journals; participation on a national level in a cooperative group on research planning; ability to establish an independent investigative program, preferably focusing on stem cell and wound healing research or a closely related field; ability to mentor graduate students and residents in basic science projects with a track record of mentorship.
