The CFAR Trainee Support Awards are available to all post doctoral fellows, undergraduate, graduate, and medical students working with CFAR faculty affiliated with Brown, Tufts or Boston Universities and presenting either a poster or oral presentation at a national meeting. Presentations must have an HIV focus and fit within the NIH HIV/AIDS Research Priorities.
Trainee support awards are funded for expenses related to travel or poster preparation at a maximum of $1,000 per award. Matching funds must be provided by the trainee, mentor, department or other non-CFAR source. Matching funds must be at least 25% of the total cost. For example, if the cost of the activity is $1,000, the CFAR trainee support award will pay $750 with contributing matching funds of $250 provided by the trainee, mentor or department.
Applicants may receive funds through this mechanism a maximum of once per year with only two trainees awarded per mentor.
