Why did you choose WIH/Brown OB/GYN?
I met some of the WIH/Brown residents at an ACOG conference while in med school - I loved talking with them and was intrigued by the unique aspects of the program, including being based at a stand-alone women's hospital. The interview dinner was fantastic, and my wife (now one of the Family Medicine residents) and I were blown away by the support system that exists for the residents and for the residents' partners and families. The training at this program is phenomenal, with a great balance of primary OB/Gyn and the subspecialties.
What are your interests within OB/GYN?
Medical education and REI. However, anything can happen in residency and all doors are open at this program!
What is your favorite thing to do in Providence or Rhode Island?
Trying all the food - we have not eaten at a bad restaurant yet! Spending the summers outside
Where do you live?
Edgewood neighborhood of Cranston where 5/8 of our class now lives! It’s a 7 minute commute :-)
One piece of advice for candidates:
Figure out which program fits you best. Find where the residents seem happiest (it will become apparent as you continue on the interview trail), and where you think YOU will be happiest.
