A one-page program overview (PDF) can be downloaded here.

Podium presentations will be 8 min. in length with 2 m in for discussion.  The screen at LSKC is optimized for 16:9, but 4:3 will also work as well. With 4:3 you will have black borders on each side.  Please bring your talks on a USB thumb drive.  LSKC audiovisual can support presentations in PowerPoint, Keynote and PDF format.

Scientific Sessions

The 6 sessions with 35 presentations will cover normal and pathologic anatomy, biomechanics, cartilage biology, neuromuscular control, diagnosis, clinical staging, conservative treatment, outcome assessment, and arthroplasty.

Consensus Statement Development

The purpose of the consensus development session is to finalize the efforts to develop a core set of outcome domains for assessing CMC OA severity and its progression, with the administration of surveys to stakeholder groups comprising patients (their care-givers, those representing vulnerable populations) and practitioners (therapists, surgeons, and rheumatologists), as well as researchers (biomechanical engineers, epidemiologists) experienced in the field of thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) osteoarthritis (OA). Using a modified Delphi approach, stakeholders will be presented with items from our ongoing efforts, under the four principal core domains outlined in the OMERACT framework. Defining content for the core domains is essential to reach an agreed standardized core set of outcomes (COS).

Mentoring opportunities will be coordinated prior to the conference using an electronic survey questionnaire sent to registered participants. One-on-one mentoring meetings will be scheduled for the morning of November 9, 2018 prior to the beginning of the day’s podium sessions. Space for the one-on-one mentoring will be provided in the prefunction area, adjacent to the room where the podium sessions will be held.
