BrownMed/Downcity Express
The BrownMed/Downcity Express is a scheduled fixed-route daytime service specifically developed to provide transportation between Brown/RISD and the hospitals via downtown and the Jewelry District.
The service is available to all students, faculty and staff, and hospital affiliates with a Brown or RISD ID. ID must be shown before boarding the van.
Route Change Effective May 26, 2009
Due to logistical changes made by the City of Providence at the corner of Point and Eddy Streets, the BrownMed/Downcity Express route has changed.
Stop #6 - Eddy and Point (Davol Square on Point St. at Hess gas station) has been eliminated. Riders from the Davol Square area should access the shuttle at Stop #4 - Eddy and Point NW on Eddy Street.
Stops #7 -20 have been renumbered to reflect the elimination of the Point St. stop. Please refer to the revised BrownMed/Downcity Express Schedule map/timetable for detailed information.

BrownMed/Downcity Real Time Tracker
The BrownMed/Downcity Express vans operate Monday through Friday. They depart from 70 Ship Street and run at approximately twelve minute intervals. The service is now operating from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm. The last departure from Rhode Island Hospital is at 5:49 pm.
If you have been waiting at a designated BrownMed/Downcity Express stop for more than 25 minutes, please call the Transportation Office at 863-3157 to alert them of the interruption of service. Please be prepared to provide the date, time, and location of the stop where you are waiting.
