SCHEDULE FOR DOCTORAL STUDENTS

8:15-9 a.m.

Orientation Registration & Breakfast
Doctoral students check in at the registration table and then get breakfast.
Tent on Simmons Quadrangle
(Located between Sayles Hall and Thayer St. Access via Thayer Street, between Waterman and George Streets, or from the Main Green. See #18)

9:15-10:15 a.m.

Thriving at Brown
Salomon 101, Main Green
Hear President Christina Paxson's greeting and an essential briefing for new doctoral students by Graduate School Dean Peter M. Weber.

10:15-11:15 a.m.

Title IX: Rights & Resources at Brown*
Salomon 101
Through an interactive panel discussion, learn about policies and resources dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe environment, where healthy, respectful, and consensual conduct represents the campus cultural norm and gender-based harassment is not tolerated. Time will be reserved for a question and answer (Q&A) period.

11:25 a.m.-12:25 p.m.

Campus Resource Fair
Sayles Hall, Main Green
Meet representatives from student groups and Brown offices. Learn about resources and opportunities available to graduate students.

12:30-1:15 p.m.

Cookout Lunch

Peer-Led Discussions on Graduate Student Life
Meeting point: MacMillan 117 
In breakout discussion groups organized by the Graduate Student Council, graduate students will answer your questions and talk about their experiences at Brown.
