Brown IPTV
Please don't forget to send us feedback on your Brown IPTV!
Brown IPTV brings you entertainment and educational content right to your residence hall computer! Just click Watch TV on this page to begin.
IPTV carries a total of 32 channels including all those currently available on the former cable TV system (major networks, PBS, BET, MTV, and others). There are also four channels dedicated to Brown programming: campus announcements, BTV, VF1, and VF2. The last two will be used to air recordings of selected campus speakers and events as well as student video works.
Residence Hall rooms are equipped with IPTV (Internet protocol television), which allows students to watch television via their personal computer.
The University no longer supports cable television. Students who wish to bring a television to campus, for their personal use, will need to rent an IPTV converter box. Converter box rentals are available from the Office of Residential Life (27 Brown Street, Wayland House). The cost to rent a box is $40 per school year ($20 per semester). The fee will be applied to your student account. If you choose to split the fee among roommates/ suite mates we will be happy to do so.
The Converter Box configuration page will help get you tuned in.
All residential hall lounges that are equipped with a television are able to receive IPTV for student use.
