This symposium is a forum to present and discuss recent developments in high-rate response of materials and structures. The strain rates include intermediate to ultra-high (e.g., drop-weight tower to Kolsky bars to plate impact). The sessions will be arranged according to materials involved from soft to hard. Analytical, experimental and numerical research will be grouped together to promote mutual understanding.
