Using Micro Rovers as Space Explorers

Sometimes big things come in small packages. Exploring extreme terrain in space risks both human life and expensive machinery. Ideas for performing exploration tasks using small robots will be presented. These will include micro rovers for the surface, as well as in space robots. The work will begin with a list of tasks or functions to be performed, some of which will lend themselves to small robots. Specific designs being worked by NASA will be described with a look to new component technologies that they require and new mission concepts that they enable.
