This was the first issue of the Phoenix that I picked up off of the stand after deciding to focus on the paper as my "thing." I was surprised to find that the cover story this week was one of national--rather than local--interest. It soon became clear that this fall was unique because of the impending presidential election. While the majority of cover stories this season have been of local interest, there has been a substantial amount of attention given to national politics.
