30 on 30: 30 local luminaries look back on 30 years of the NewPaper and the Providence Phoenix
I almost jumped for joy when this issue appeared on newsstands. It seemed too ironic that the 30th anniversary issue of a publication, detailing the long-standing relationship between publication and community, would coincide exactly with my study of this relationship. The cover story gives voice to 30 Providence residents who represent a variety of backgrounds, opinions, careers and politics. Together they paint a picture of the Providence community today, while paying homage to the past and looking towards the future.
