Despite a healthy degree of cultural relativism, I retain an instinctual sense of the normality of my own culture's practices.
To some degree, this is instinct is a positive thing: without this sense, I might feel out of place, a stranger in my own land, as it were. It is an instinct developed by group awareness and conformity and socialization and simple habit.
