Every person not directly involved in the ritual (non-mediator, not touching board) should keep a notebook containing a detailed log of the events of the experience. A clock should be clearly visible for each person so the time of events can be logged. The sun sign and the zodiac sign in which the moon currently resides should be listed along with the zodiac sign of each person participating in the ritual. These allow for analysis of the spirits contacted and their moods toward each ritualist. (Crowley, 75)
Ouija experiments can also be recorded through video or tape recordings, however, these should not solely be relied on. These devices can not record how a participant feels, room temperature, or certain supernatural occurrences. Also, video can only record a certain range of the experiment area, events might occur out of view of the tape. (Buckland, 77)
