akram: a pilgrimage route which from Baghdad to Mecca. The route was lined with many settlements which were populated by former Bedouin tribes. The settlements were built very similar and usually included a government building and residential buildings. The importance of Darb Zubayda was that it was it allowed caravans to travel freely without the threat of violence. The settlement of the Bedouin was also initiated in this “project”.
