The UNESCO Convention is an international agreement designed to facilitate the protection of cultural property worldwide. While it is not enforceable per se as an "international law" its signing is considered by most to be the cut-off date for all antiquities of questionable backgrounds. I theory, no object excavated after 1970 will be overlooked, but there are still numerous cases as the agreement gains its teeth. US cases that enforced the power of the agreement include
