Closing a Search/Hiring a Candidate - Clinical and Biology Departments

In order to close a search and hire a candidate, the documents listed below should be submitted via email to [email protected].

BMFA will route required approvals as follows:

  • Relevant Senior Associate Dean
  • Vice President of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (Note that OIED approvals can take up to 2 weeks, so please plan accordingly)

Please note that once the final candidate has been approved the search can then be closed in Interfolio.

Hospital Support Letter (if applicable) - Clinical Departments
  1. Must have name, rank and effective dates of appointment
  2. (Research) must state contingent upon the availabilty of external funding

  1. Three letters required for Instructor/Assistant Professor level - can be from within Brown
  2. If senior level, candidate must be reviewed by the Committee on Medical Faculty Appointments (CMFA)
