Description

The study of human tumor tissues or bodily fluids including blood, pleural effusions, ascites, urine, and CSF is fundamental to biomarker discovery and validation, disease monitoring, and the establishment of predictive and prognostic factors. The Department of Pathology has archival human tumor tissue materials going back decades, some stored fresh tumor tissues, e.g. from hematological malignancies, and other banked materials, e.g. from brain, GI, GU or other malignancies.

Goals

Assist investigators with access to human tumor and normal tissues for cancer biology and therapeutics research. Provide support for grant submissions.
