MICHAEL E. MIGLIORI, MD, FACS
Ophthalmologist-in-Chief

Welcome to the Rhode Island Hospital Division of Ophthalmology, the primary teaching facility for the Ophthalmology Residency of the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. The Division provides teaching and research opportunities for practicing physicians, students and residents as well as comprehensive ophthalmic care to the Southern New England community.

Our Residency Program graduated its first resident in 1966, and it continues to flourish as an important part of the educational and research mission the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. Residents gain clinical experience working at comprehensive ophthalmology and subspecialty clinics and emergency departments at Rhode Island Hospital, Hasbro Children's Hospital, the Providence VA Medical Center, and the Miriam Hospital. Our residents finish the training program well prepared to enter practice or to start a fellowship in any subspecialty of ophthalmology.

The physicians in our division are highly talented and skillful ophthalmologists. Their areas of expertise span all aspects of the specialty, from comprehensive eye care to all subspecialties. In addition to their hospital teaching roles, many of our faculty lecture nationally and internationally.

Please take this opportunity to learn more about who we are, what our mission is, and what we have to offer for our residents, students, faculty and most importantly for our patients.
