The Urology Residency at Brown University is a five-year program highlighted by several unique features. With two applicants accepted per year and eighteen highly active clinical faculty, residents not only enjoy a tightly-knit, supportive community, but also exceptional surgical case volume.
The diverse and balanced faculty creates ample opportunity for General Urology and Minimally Invasive procedures, as well as exceptional exposure to advanced reconstructive and microsurgical techniques. To further enhance the resident educational experience, two new da Vinci Robotic Surgical Systems have been acquired, including the Dual Console da Vinci Si as well as the daVinci Robotic Skills Simulator.
Another highlight is the outpatient experience. Residents participate in several multidisciplinary clinics with focuses on Stone Disease, Urologic Oncology, and Men's and Women's Health. Independent assessment and management skills are honed through the Rhode Island Hospital Urology Clinic as well as the VA Hospital, where residents are afforded significant autonomy.
Finally, the enthusiasm of our faculty for teaching is evident not only in the clinical setting but also in the classroom. This passion has yielded a richly diverse didactic teaching schedule that features conferences in Pediatric Urology, Urologic Pathology, Radiology, and Oncology.
