Performance Spaces
Brown currently has two main buildings dedicated to music performance: Grant Recital Hall, in the Music Department complex, and Sayles Hall, on the green. The latter is typically used for concerts by the University orchestra and chorus while the former is perfect for chamber music, electronic music, and smaller jazz combos. The Jazz Band and the Wind Symphony also perform in Salomon Hall on the Green.
The newly-renovated Grant Recital Hall opened in January 2007. The refurbished facility, designed and overseen by Brian Healy Architects in Boston, MA, boasts a larger lobby and reception space, a grander entrance, and a more generous green room for performers than our previous hall.
