Lois Finkel, Teaching Associate
Lois Finkel is a consultant in violin and chamber music since 1986. She is also the Assistant Principal Second Violin at the Rhode Island Philharmonic and the Chairperson of the string department at the Music School of the RI Philharmonic. She has taught at Connecticut College and Haverford College, where she was the Artist in Residence and an Instructor in chamber music and violin respectively. She also developed a pilot string education program in Charleston West Virginia public schools. Finkel has performed with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project and the Ocean State Chamber Orchestra. She has been awarded a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and Graduate Quartet Fellowships from U Mass Amherst and the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
