Research Interest
19th and 20th century continental philosophy, ethics, moral psychology, and philosophy of mind (including philosophy of psychoanalysis). .
Current Work
Professor Reginster's research focuses on issues in ethics, moral psychology, and philosophy of mind in 19th and 20th century continental philosophy. He has published a number of articles in these areas and his book, The Affirmation of Life. Nietzsche on Overcoming Nihilism appeared in 2006 ( Harvard University Press). Professor Reginster is currently working on issues in moral psychology and philosophy of mind in Schopenhauer and Nietzsche, and on subjectivity and intersubjectivity, especially in 20th century French philosophy and psychoanalysis.
