Dambisa Moyo
Dambisa Moyo will be giving the second annual Odyssey Lecture on March 22, 2011. Ms. Moyo is an international economist and the New York Times best-selling author of Dead Aid: Why Aid Is Not Working and How There Is a Better Way For Africa (2009). Moyo’s second book, How the West Was Lost: Fifty Years of Economic Folly—And the Stark Choices that Lie Ahead is the focus of her public talk here at Brown. She offers a bold account of how America's flawed economic choices have shifted the balance of power in favor of the emerging world. Both books will be available for sale at a public book signing immediately following the talk.
Ms. Moyo will also take part in The PTP course, “Prosperity and Poverty: The History, Ethics, and Economics of the Wealth of Nations.” Students in the “Prosperity” course, who will be reading Moyo’s book in class, will have the opportunity to interact directly with the author.
NOTE: This video is available to members of the Brown community only.
