    • all Program and Greek Houses have been invited to set up a table to advertise their houses
    • we have asked ResLife to set up a table with floor plans of all of the dorms
      • We have also asked ResLife to post floor plans online in the near future
  • The First Pick Competition will have pizza, dessert, humus, and sodas
  • The competition will be advertised via Facebook, the BDH, Morning Mail and Table Slips

Update - Program House Committee (Mark):

  • Program House Review from last semester did not accomplish anything significant
    • if problems existed, we knew about them before review occurred
  • We are not going to conduct a review this semester
  • Instead, we are going to talk to Greek and Program House Councils because they have expressed interest in conducting their own internal reviews
    • ResCouncil will then take a more passive role in Program and Greek House review
  • The bylaws of ResCouncil say that the Program House Chair is supposed to assign one member of ResCouncil to each Greek/Program house and have the ResCouncil member serve as a liaison between the house and the council
  • Greek Council and Program House Council are very different bodies - how can we ensure that an appropriate review will occur in each?
    • Program House Council is currently dealing with recruitment, scheduling of events (making sure that not too many houses have events at the same time)
  • Our Program House Committee should have a conversation with the Program House Council to make sure that between the two governing bodies, everything is getting accomplished
  • Should we review the reviews done by the Greek and Program House Councils to make sure that each house is following the basic guidelines of what is required of houses?
    • central issue: what are the benefits of passing a review versus the consequences of not passing a review
    • we, as ResCouncil, should not impose consequences on the houses - we can only give recommendations to ResLife
    • ResLife can then take away housing privileges
  • In this system, we would have to ensure that Greek and Program House Councils do not let their own members off of the hook
  • We should definitely consider this option
    • we need to figure out the appropriate support we should lend Greek and Program House Councils in order for them to successfully carry out their own reviews
    • When houses are committed to throwing events, and vested in maintaining a reputation so that people want to live there, we know it
