Room and Equipment Reservations

To make a reservation, please contact an administrative staff member in the department.

GC 246 seats 12 around a conference table with 4 additional seats. This room is intended for seminars, meetings, small classes, and other similar activities. Wireless internet, projector with VGA and HDMI hookup.

GC 349 seats 12 around a conference table with 6 additional seats. This room is intended for receptions, meetings, and other similar activities. It may be used in conjunction with GC 351 for larger receptions, for a total of 50 - 60 people depending on setup. Wireless internet, small kitchen setup, projector rental available. 

GC 351 seats 34 in a classroom set-up. This room is intended for classes, seminars, meetings and other similar activities requiring a larger space. It may be combined with GC 349 for special meetings. Wireless access, projector with VGA hookup.

GC 425 seats 8 around a table with 4 additional seats. The room is intended for small meetings and conferences. Wireless internet, PC, LCD TV with VGA and HDMI hookup.

GC 449 seats 15 around a conference table. This room is intended for small classes, seminars, meetings and other similar activities. Wireless internet, projector with VGA hookup.

MM 205 seats 30 in a classroom setup. It is intended for classes and seminars. Please note that this room is also used as a laboratory and no food or drink is allowed. Wireless internet access, SmartBoard with Mac and external VGA/HDMI hookup.

MM 305 setas 30 in a classroom setup. It is intended for classes and seminars. Please note that this room is also used as a laboratory and no food or drink is allowed. Wireless internet, projector with VGA hookup.

MM 115 seats 110 in a curved classroom set-up. It has wireless access, overhead, computer and slide projectors as well as the appropriate screens and chalk boards. DVD, video and 35mm projection is also available. *Reservations for MM 115 must be made through Brown's Scheduling Office

MM 117 seats 293 in a tierd classroom set-up. It has wireless access, overhead, computer and slide projectors as well as the appropriate screens and chalk boards. DVD, video and 35mm projection is also available. NO FOOD ALLOWED. *Reservations for MM 117 must be made through Brown's Scheduling Office


ADDITIONAL RESOURCES FOR CHEMISTRY ONLY
  • LAPTOP  The laptop is available only for special events. Requests must be made well in advance to free up the laptop for use.
  • COMPUTER PROJECTOR   There are three Epson projectors available for use. The are Models EMP-74, EMP 800UG and EMP-821.

SCHEDULING GUIDELINES

The specified rooms in GeoChem and MacMillan Hall are intended to meet the longstanding needs of the Department of Geological Sciences, Chemistry, Center for Environmental Studies (CES) and the Environmental Change Initiative (ECI) for seminars, colloquia, conferences, and meetings. These rooms are also available for use by other departments, campus-wide, when not being used by Geology, Chemistry, CES or ECI. Please note that after-hours building access will need to be arranged for those not affiliated with the above mentioned departments; contact Brown's Public Safety Office for assistance with after-hours building access.

To minimize scheduling conflicts, those requesting resources are asked to book only for those times for which there is a very high likelihood that the planned activity will take place and to release the scheduled time as soon as it is known that a scheduled activity will not take place. Secondly, users reserving rooms should also understand that there may be times when they will be asked to reschedule or relocate their activity because the room is needed for another activity that is regarded as having higher priority. For example, regularly scheduled research meetings may have to be moved to accommodate an unanticipated seminar schedule change. If scheduling conflicts arise that cannot readily be resolved to the satisfaction of the users involved, then these conflicts will be referred to the Chair of Chemistry Dept., who, in consultation with the chairs or directors of the departments with competing claims, will make the final decision.
