The Creative Arts Council is currently planning for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 at the Granoff Center. Beginning on February 1, we are accepting grant applications for Course Development and Fitt Artist Residencies, as well as proposals for courses and Cohen Gallery exhibitions for the Granoff Center for Fall 2012/Spring 2013. Additional information can be found below:
Course Development: The CAC awards a maximum of $3,000 towards the development of new, interdisciplinary or intermedial courses. The Council favors proposals that promote collaborations among artists, scientists, and humanists, and that cross the boundaries of individual arts disciplines. Funds may be used for course materials, student assistance, travel, or research. Applications, available at UFUNDS, are accepted on a rolling basis through May 1.
Fitt Artsist in Residence: The CAC awards a maximum of $10,000 to Brown faculty in support of artist residencies of one week or longer. Proposals should support an artist distinguished in his/her field, willing to spend a large portion of the residency interacting with students, through workshops, master classes, etc. Interested applicants may submit a letter of interest to the Creative Arts Council Grant Review committee, c/o Chira_Delsesto@brown.edu, before February 14. Formal applications will be available on February 15 at UFUNDS.
Granoff Center Applications:
Course Proposals: Faculty interested in proposing a course to be taught in the Granoff Center during the 2012-2013 academic year should be in touch with Chira DelSesto to request an application. Course proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis through April 15.
Cohen Gallery: Faculty or students interested in proposing an exhibit for the Granoff Center’s Cohen Gallery during the 2012-2013 academic year should be in touch with Chira DelSesto to request an application. Exhibition proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis through April 15.
Space Requests: The CAC will not confirm any space requests for the Granoff Center for dates during the 2012-2013 academic year until the course schedule is set. The event committee will meet after May 1 to review space proposals. Faculty, students, or staff interested in submitting a proposal for space for the 2012-2013 academic year may request an application here.
