The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) supports Brown University faculty and staff in the acquisition, performance, and administration of projects and programs funded from external sources. The office responsibilities include:
- Compliance with governmental and private funding agency standards
- Review and submission of proposals
- Award negotiation and acceptance on behalf of Brown University
- Disseminate research policy information through publications and other communications
- Technical support for electronic proposal creation in Coeus, Brown’s electronic grants management system.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Establish subrecipient agreements and conduct subrecipient monitoring
- Oversee and advise on financial management of sponsored projects, including financial reporting, cash management, accounts receivable, effort reporting, expense reporting, and monitoring of cost-share arrangements
- Address issues that arise during the life of a sponsored project
- Coordinate award close- out process
- Provide education and professional development opportunities including Certificate Training in Research Administration
