Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP)

The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) supports Brown University faculty and staff in the acquisition, performance, and administration of projects and programs funded from external sources. The office responsibilities include:

 

  • Compliance with governmental and private funding agency standards
  • Review and submission of proposals
  • Award negotiation and acceptance on behalf of Brown University
  • Disseminate research policy information through publications and other communications
  • Technical support for electronic proposal creation in Coeus, Brown’s electronic grants management system.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Establish subrecipient agreements and conduct subrecipient monitoring
  • Oversee and advise on financial management of sponsored projects, including financial reporting, cash management, accounts receivable, effort reporting, expense reporting, and monitoring of cost-share arrangements
  • Address issues that arise during the life of a sponsored project
  • Coordinate award close- out process
  • Provide education and professional development opportunities including Certificate Training in Research Administration
