Rhythmic Hyobranchial Behaviors in Tetrapods
Elizabeth L. Brainerd

This page contains video clips of buccal pumping, buccal oscillation, gular flutter and gular pumping in amphibians and reptiles. These clips were collected as part of a presentation made at the 2001 Society of Vertebrate Paleontology meeting in Bozeman Montana (abstract available). This work was the subject of a Scientific American online article entitled "Breathing Life into Dinosaurs."
