Peru. Protector (1821-1822 : San Martín). El Protector del Peru. Establecido el Gobierno Supremo del Perú. [Lima, 1821].

Following the stalemate of the early years of the rebellions, in 1817 General San Martín led his forces westward from Río de la Plata, on a perilous trek across the Andes, and began the liberation of Chile. With British naval aid, Republican forces pushed northward, eventually taking Lima, the heart of Royalist resistance, though fighting would still rage until 1825. This work, issued shortly after the fall of Lima, announces the blockade of all ports still in Royalist hands in order to restrict their access to aid and reinforcements.
