There is an increasing need to improve quality of life and life expectancy worldwide. Medicine and biomedical engineering have a common goal of improving health care delivery and medical practice. Biomedical engineering bridges the gap between engineering and medicine. This partnership can lead to advances in health treatment, diagnosis and therapy. The Biotechnology and Global Health Symposium will address the growing challenges of health care in resource limited settings and elucidate how engineers and medical care providers can work together to help solve these issues through innovative and outside the box thinking.
