Frontiers in Applied and Computational Mathematics

The Division of Applied Mathematics at Brown University is pleased to announce the 60th Birthday Conference of Professor Chi-Wang Shu, to be held from January 4 - 6, 2017.  The conference is being organized by Sigal Gottlieb, Fengyan Li, Jennifer Ryan, and Johnny Guzman.  An outstanding group of the world's most distinguished mathematicians will gather to celebrate Professor Shu's legacy by presenting some of their most influencial work in the field of applied and computational mathematics.  The conference will take place at ICERM. 

Funding is available for travel and lodging.  Graduate students and postdocs are especially encouraged to apply. The deadline to be considered for funding will be October 15, 2016. (Please see Registration Form.) 

There will be a poster session during the conference. If you are interested in presenting a poster please fill out the appropriate section in the registration form.  The deadline for poster submissions is October 15, 2016.

A banquet is planned for Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, and will be located at the Biltmore Hotel.  Please indicate if you would like to attend the banquet when submitting your registration form. 

The Journal of Scientific Computing will publish a special commemorative issue in honor of Professor Shu.  To submit to this special issue, please click here, and select:  S.I. High order methods: In honor of Professor Shu's 60th birthday.   The deadline for obtaining this issue is 12/31/2016.
