Preparing for Brown

A successful first-year experience at Brown requires careful planning. Brown's Advising Team will communicate with you throughout the summer about important academic and campus life matters, including course pre-registration, first-year advisor assignments, and Orientation. To receive all of our communications you must activate your Brown email account:

Incoming students receive two packets of material from Brown via USPS or airmail. We will send these packets to your permanent home address. Students who will be away from home for extended periods of time should arrange with family or friends to have the packets forwarded to them.

The matriculation packet, which we send when you accept admission, includes Brown and You and a number of forms that we need you to return. Check back at this site for a list of these documents along with due dates for each form. The second mailing, which arrives in early June, includes a summer academic planning guide; the First Reading selection; and other materials to help prepare you for your first year at Brown.
