Education Studies Concentrator to Speak at Mid-Year Completion Ceremony

November 30, 2018

Brown University will ring in December with a bit of pomp and circumstance tomorrow, with more than 70 students earning their degrees in Brown's annual mid-year completion ceremony.  The Education Department was pleased to hear that Education Studies concentrator Attayah Douglas will be one of the two graduating seniors offering their reflections at the ceremony.

In Brown University's announcement about the two speakers, Attayah stated that her first-year seminar course, Empowering Youth: Insights from Research on Urban Adolescents (EDUC0410), helped shift her focus toward educational inequity and led to a concentration in Education Studies with an emphasis on history and policy.

The Education Department congratulates Attayah on being selected to address her fellow ".5" graduates and celebrates her drive toward addressing and resolving urban education disparities and her plan to develop social and education reform policy that centers marginalized communities.
