The Cogut Institute administers several fellowship and grant programs to provide support to Brown University faculty and students in the pursuit of their humanities research and study.
Our current programs include Faculty Fellowships for Brown faculty, Humanities Research Group Grants for Brown faculty and students, Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships in the humanities for non-Brown postdoctoral scholars, Postdoctoral Fellowships in International Humanities focused on the question of the humanities for non-Brown postdoctoral scholars, and Graduate Fellowships in the Humanities for Brown graduate students.
The academic year 2011-12 saw the inauguration of Brown in the World/The World at Brown, a program sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, that brings leading international scholars to Brown as well as affording opportunities for Brown graduate students to enhance their scholarly opportunities with financial support for international research.
In the summer of 2017, for the 10th year in a row, the Institute will offer two Tuition Fellowships to attend the School of Criticism and Theory at Cornell University. Sponsored participants can be senior graduate students or junior faculty members.
The Institute also inaugurated its Undergraduate Fellowship program in 2008-09, offering advanced honors undergraduates the opportunity to participate in the life of the center and benefit from the critique of their work by other Cogut Fellows.
