Julia Huggins is a PhD student and SSHRC Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Modern Culture and Media at Brown University. Previously, Julia received a Fulbright Canada Student Award (2017-18). She holds a Master’s in Film Studies from Concordia University, where she worked on the intersections of amnesia, love, and ‘gadgets’ in film. Broadly, Julia’s research deals with how the expressivity of the body—from the genomic to the gestural—is adjudicated alongside legal and technological histories.
