Matthew Ellis is a Visiting Assistant Professor and Deans' Faculty Fellow in the department of Modern Culture and Media at Brown University. His work has been published in Synoptique, Jump Cut (forthcoming), and the first published collection on Twin Peaks: Season Three, entitled "Critical Essays on Twin Peaks: The Return," co-written with Tyler Theus. After a career in the music industry and the world of film distribution, he completed his PhD at Brown University in the department of Modern Culture and Media, where he recently finished his dissertation titled "The Return of History: Twenty-First Century Cinema and the Crisis of Neoliberalism." Currently he is a video editor at Repeater Books, where his webseries When Are We? airs monthly on Repeater Radio.
