Professors Arlene Cole and Mark Steinbach Visit Xi'an, China

Arlene Cole, Asst. Prof. of the Practice in Music and Mark Steinbach, University Organist and Senior Lecturer in Music at Brown were invited by the Xi'an Conservatory of Music in Xi'an, China, for a five day residency as part of the Sino US Solfeggio Academic Exchange in National Art Colleges, May 8-12, 2018. Both Cole and Steinbach taught masterclasses at the conference, which included students and faculty from conservatories throughout China. Arlene Cole also served as clinician for the annual sight-singing and musicianship competition. Mark Steinbach also coached the Conservatory Choir and performed a collaborative concert of solo organ works and compositions for choir and organ on the new Eule pipe organ in the Xi'an Conservatory Performing Arts Center.
