Grant Received for the South African Addiction Technology Transfer Center

 Dr. Sara Becker & Dr. Caroline Kou

Dr. Caroline Kou and Dr. Sara Becker received a grant of $2.5 Million dollars for their work on the South African Addiction Technology Transfer Center. The Primary Innvestigator’s Sara Becker (Assistant Professor in BSS based at CAAS) and Caroline Kuo (Assistant Professor in BSS based in CAAS and IHI; Assistant Dean of Diversity and Inclusion), also worked with Dan Stein (Chair, Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health at University of Cape Town) on this project. The grant runs from September 30, 2017 to September 29, 2022.

Mark Aloia presentation on Bridging Academia and Industry to Change Health Behaviors

Mark Aloia will be presenting in room 245 (121 South Main St) on 11/17 at 4pm on Bridging Academia and Industry to Change Health Behaviors. He started his career at Brown before moving to National Jewish where he is an Associate Professor. In addition to having NIH grants, he serves as the Sr. Director of Global Clinical Research for Philips Healthcare. He will talk on his experiences bridging academia and industry in the area of mHealth before leading an open-ended discussion about how academic-industry partnerships can develop.
