We are so pleased to welcome back Tianyuan Cui, AM’12, and Anja Zgodic, ScM’14, for our next Career Information Series talk on Monday, 12 March 2018.
Tianyuan, who returned in 2016 to share her experiences with our students, currently works as a Data Scientist at TripAdvisor in Cambridge, MA. Tianyuan graduated from the Department’s AM Program in 2012 and recently attained a Master’s in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology’s online program. Following her graduation from Brown, Tianyuan began her career as a Biostatistician with The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine. Two years later, she accepted a position with Jobcase, Inc. as a Data Scientist. In 2017, she was offered her current position of Data Scientist with TripAdvisor, based in Boston, MA.
Anja graduated from the Department’s ScM Program in 2014. Her Master’s thesis was entitled “Possible Pitfalls of Cumulative Sum Charts and Funnel Plots in Monitoring Clinical Performance and Outcomes” on which Dr. Roee Gutman was her thesis advisor. Following graduation, Anja acquired the position of Data Scientist with Celmatix, a New York company which uses big data analytics and genomics to improve fertility treatments. After two years, she rose to the position of Data Science Lead. In 2017, Anja accepted a position with Amgen, in Boston, as a Data Scientist.
This is an exciting opportunity to hear from Brown Biostatistics alumni on their career trajectory; their experiences, their challenges, their successes!
The Career Information Series is part of the Biostatistics Master’s Journal Club/Career Development module led by Master's Program Associate Director and Assistant Professor, Stavroula Chrysanthopoulou. Students are encouraged to attend the 12:00 pm exchange and sign up for small student meetings with both Tianyuan and Anja. Find all the details right here.
