Chenyang Gu, 4th-year Biostatistics doctoral candidate, has been selected as a one of the 2016 recipients of Brown's School of Public Health’s Nora Kahn Piore Award for his proposal entitled “The Development of a Functional Comorbidity Index with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Score as the Outcome.” Mr. Gu’s study will be among the first to develop a claims-based functional comorbidity index for predicting ADL function in frail older populations.

Brown's School of Public Health 5th-Year Master's Programs
Brown University's 5th-Year Master's degree options allow Brown undergraduates to continue at the University for a master's degree after completing their bachelor's degree. Brown's School of Public Health has two such programs - one in Behavioral and Social Sciences and one in Biostatistics.
Biostatistics Assistant Professor, Ani Eloyan, joined the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA) - Theory and Methods as an Associate Editor. The primary journal published by the American Statistical Association, JASA is one of the premier journals for statistial science and is consistently a highly-cited journal for the field of statistics and biostatistics.
