Talley writes about the relationship between political ideology and aesthetic practice in theatrical performance. She’s interested in the un/democratic performer-spectator relationship and the materiality of the stage. At the moment, she is focused on environmentalism, public land as a site of performance, and sustainable theatre practice.
As a director, Talley stages classical/historical/literary plays about power and politics. Her projects deal with theatricality and anti-theatricality, space, and visceral experience. Her directing work is available at talleyvictoriamurphy.com.
Talley recently graduated from Barnard College with a BA in Theatre, concentration in directing.
