Getting Connected

Student groups can make use of several CIS services to enhance online communication. Below is a list of options:


BrownSites:

The recognizable Brown university website template.

  • Lost Access? No problem!

CIS will have access to your BrownSite. In the event that a site owner has left or graduated, e-mail webservices@brown.edu to request access to an existing site.

Submit the Create BrownSite Request form to request a new site here.

  1. List Isaac_Albanese@brown.edu in the space provided for Department Chair Email Address.
  2. List ialbanes in the space provided for Dept Head User Name.
  3. Be sure to specify that that the request is for a student organization in either the Site Purpose and Affiliation or Additional Information boxes.


Web Publishing Accounts:

An open development space for student groups to build their own site.

Submit the Web Publishing Account form here to request a new account.

Need access to an existing Web Publishing Account? Use the same form listed above!


Student Group Shared Gmail Addresses:

A centralized and delegated account for student organizations to send and receive e-mail from (e.g. the Undergraduate Finance Board receives e-mail address at ufb@brown.edu).

Submit an IT Service Center Help Ticket here to request a new shared Gmail address or request access to an existing address.

  1. Select "Submit an ACCOUNT or ACCESS request (please select sub-category below)."
  2. Select "ACCOUNT/ACCESS Assistance (for all applications other than those below."
  3. List Isaac_Albanese@brown.edu in the space provided for Supervisor's Email Address.
  4. Include the names and @brown.edu addresses of individual members that will need access, in the additional details box at the end of the form.

Membership Listservs:

Offers a variety of options to communicate within an organization or group.
